Canada is one of the world's wealthiest nations, with a very high per-capita income. The 2006 Canadian census counted a total population of 31,612,897, an increase of 5.4% over the 2001 figure. The two official languages are Canadian English and Canadian French .
Average winter and summer high temperatures across Canada vary from region to region. During winter, temperature of northern areas drop below -40°C. While between the coasts, the average summer temperature ranges from 25°C to 30°C.
